I've been messing around in the newbie zones to see how the leveling process is and it came up just in the new players and there were already 20 people doing the same thing and that was just during a 2 hour period last night on a sat. This will be fun with a bunch of low levels all running around like a chicken with its head cut off, KSing each other, long hours camping, etc.

Not sure if they changed them but spawn points in newbie zones used to be static. I can remember on some of the more packed servers doing the "race". Often you would see a group camped around a spawn point killing mobs as they dropped. Well, in some of the more packed newbie zones like Nek forest.
